MRI Shows Cancer Cells Thrive On Processed Sugar – ewao
Many people dive into high-sugar, high-chubby food without thinking of the consequences. However, recent research showed that Cancer cells spread and grow on processed sugar, which could aid many people stop eating it once and for every single!
Nature Medicine declared that processed sugar is one of the main forces behind the spread of cancer tumors. The results proved convincing, that future cancer screening exams will perhaps, possibly glance for signs of the disease by scanning the body to find accumulated sugar.
This discovery was made by the University College London (UCL) in the U.K. They experimented with a strange cancer detection method that includes using a different technique of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). The scientists sensitized an MRI scanner to scan for glucose in the body. The experiment revealed that cancer tumors, which gain been shown to feed off sugar, light up vividly as they contain high amounts of sugar in them.
In a strange UCL statement:
“The strange technique, called ‘glucose chemical exchange saturation transfer’ (glucoCEST), is based on the fact that tumors consume much more glucose (a type of sugar) than typical, healthy tissues to sustain their growth.”
The traditional method of scanning for cancer is to utilize low-dose radiation injections to identify the presence of tumors. This approach is useful because radiation is another recognized cause of cancer. But the problem is that injecting could cause adverse health effects for the body due to the potential side effects of radiation. Now, doctors can add sugar scanning as a method to find cancer tumors in people.
“The method uses an injection of typical sugar and could offer a cheap, safe alternative to existing methods for detecting tumors, which require the injection of radioactive fabric,” says Dr. Simon Walker-Samuel, the lead researcher behind the study from the UCL Center for Advanced Biomedical Imaging (CABI).
The study’s senior author said that the amount of sugar in “half a standard sized chocolate bar” is enough to identify the presence of tumors using the glucoCEST method. This conclusion is excellent, as it implies that even low quantities of sugar in the body gain the potential to aid cancer proliferation.
UCL was not the first to conduct a study and connect sugar with cancer development. Dr. Robert H. Lustig, M.D. and Professor of Pediatrics in the Division of Endocrinology at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), states that sugar consumption causes the majority of chronic diseases we see nowadays. Lustig wrote “Sugar: The Bitter Truth,” and he explains his findings in videos too.
The primary type of sugars that can aid develop cancer is sweetened and processed foods, white sugar and flour, and, of course, quick food. The way these types of sugars smash down inside the body, compared to natural sources of fructose from fruit, is that they induce a rise of hormones to be delivered (specifical insulin), and in effect, they act as a flag for cancer cells to continue to feed and spread.
Dr. Lewis Cantley, head of Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) at Harvard University, explained the sugar-cancer connection in a CBS interview, saying: “What we’re beginning to memorize is that insulin can cause adverse effects in various tissues, and a specific concern is cancer.”
“whether you happen to gain a tumor that has insulin receptors on it, then it will pick up stimulated to choose up the glucose that’s in the bloodstream. So well than going to the chubby or to the muscle, the glucose now goes into the tumor, and the tumor uses it to grow.”
These studies reveal the importance of choosing unprocessed, wholesome, and mainly plant-based foods to support the body healthy, and the intellect nourished. You can start by adding more vegetables, plant-based proteins, and greens such as broccoli and spinach into your diet, while at the same time reducing processed foods. The body can heal itself whether you give it the right nutrients.
